How do I grant permission to view a dashboard to a user role?

After activating the standard Carerix Dashboards, it is important that you configure per user role which dashboards may be used. Using the 'Dashboard user role management' menu, available via the 'Dashboards' button, you can set these permissions. In this article, we explain in detail how this works.

How does user role management for dashboards work?

Below, you will find a step-by-step guide on how to manage access to your dashboards within Carerix.

Ensure the correct permissions

After the dashboards have been activated, the necessary permissions must first be granted to the administrator. To do this, go to the user roles menu in the marketplace after activating the dashboards and ensure that permissions are checked for both 'Carerix Dashboards' and 'Dashboard user role management', at least for the administrator role. If you like the permission can also be assigned to other user roles.

⚠️ Note: There is a distinction between the availability of the dashboard menu and the individual dashboards.

👉🏼 The permission for 'Carerix Dashboards' enables the dropdown menu, but it will be empty by default.

👉🏼 Which dashboards are visible depends on the permissions granted by the administrator per user role. By default, no permissions are granted.

Assigning dashboard permissions to user roles

When the 'Dashboard' dropdown at the top of the screen is available, and you see the 'Dashboard user role management' option (in blue) upon opening it, you can start assigning permissions per dashboard to different user roles. Click on 'Dashboard user role management' to proceed.

A new screen will open, allowing you to specify which user roles have the right to view each dashboard. This setting also determines the contents of the Dashboards menu for that specific user role.

Once you have assigned user roles to a dashboard, the dashboard will become visible in the dropdown menu and available for use after a page refresh (F5) for the relevant user(s).

Why don’t I see any dashboards in the dropdown?

By default, no permissions are granted to user roles. Before a dashboard becomes visible, permission must be granted for your user role. Please contact your Carerix administrator for this.

⚠️ Note: After changing permissions, each individual user must refresh their page for the changes to take effect.

Who can manage dashboard access?

Any user with a role that has been granted permission to assign rights can manage access per dashboard for all user roles. Contact your Carerix administrator for further assistance.
