Assisted Matching helps you quickly find the best-matching candidates or vacancies. This page explains how to start a search and refine it in a few steps to get better results.
What is Assisted Matching?
Assisted Matching uses AI to automatically find relevant matches in your data. It converts free text (such as CVs and job descriptions) into skills and functions, and displays a score for each result that indicates the strength of the match. Because Assisted Matching takes into account synonyms, related functions, and spelling variations, you'll also find matches you'd miss with exact searching. The matching is transparent: you see the score and criteria to understand where matches occur – it's not a black box.
💡Golden rule: the more complete and better your data in Carerix, the stronger the matches and the more time you'll save.
Starting a search
You can search in two ways:
From a job vacancy → you search for matching candidates.
From a candidate → you search for matching vacancies.
As soon as you open the TheMatchBox tab, Carerix automatically creates a weighted search based on the most important information (such as function, location, skills, salary, and languages). You then refine it yourself.
Refining your search
Not getting the desired result right away? Refine your search in a few steps.
Too many results? Refine your search
Increase the importance of an element by moving the slider toward importance.
Check or uncheck specific hard skills for more targeted searching.
Adjust filters or add new ones (for example, by status).
Too few results? Broaden your search
Increase your location/radius.
Remove some filters.
💡Tip: want to go back to your original search? Click the reset button (⟲).
Criteria and filters: What's the difference?
You refine your search using two types of settings.
Aspect | Criteria | Filters |
Where | Above the filter line | Below the filter line, organized per tab |
What they do | Determine how much weight an element carries in the match score (importance), plus skills and location | Refine results on concrete characteristics; work as a strict condition |
Example | Make location more important; turn a skill on/off | Only candidates with active or job-seeking status |
Good to know
👉🏼 Filters are strict: if a record doesn't meet the filter criteria, it's excluded from results. Use them intentionally.
👉🏼 Filters are organized per tab (e.g., own environment and Jobdigger); settings can vary from tab to tab.
What does Assisted Matching match on?
Assisted Matching considers among others:
Function — job title and function group.
Location — address data.
Driver's license.
Salary — hourly rates and daily rates are automatically converted to a monthly salary for comparability.
Language skills.
Hard skills & certifications — for example, checked skills and specialized knowledge.
For this, both structured fields and free text (such as the CV attachment or job description publication text) are used. Matches from structured fields score higher than matches from free text.
Better data, better matches
Here are some things you can do yourself to get stronger results:
Fill in function, skills, location, languages, and education as completely as possible.
Keep statuses current so filters work properly.
Make sure CVs and job descriptions are substantively complete – the AI extracts functions and skills from these.
