Export data to Excel

How to export data from Carerix, such as candidates or contacts, to an Excel file free of charge.

You want to export candidate data (for example address details) from Carerix to an Excel file. Using an example, this article shows how to do that.

Preparation

An Excel export is available by default for:

  • Activities

  • Candidates

  • Job orders

  • Contacts

  • Companies

  • Placements

  • Weekly timesheets

  • Monthly timesheets

Want to export other records? Contact our support team to see whether that's possible.

To display the data, a document template is needed. For an Excel export you can use two templates in the Template Library: Mailmerge and Export [file] to Excel. These need to be installed by an administrator before use. Behind every document template you'll find a description of the data that gets exported.

Example

In the example below you install the Candidate Mailmerge template and export the data to Excel. The process is the same for Contacts and Companies.

Installing the document template "Mailmerge"

  1. Go to 'Maintenance' | 'Templates'. This can only be done by an administrator.

  2. Go to the 'Documents' tab.

  3. Click on [Library].

  4. In the library, go to 'Candidates overview'.

  5. Click on [Install] behind Mailmerge.

  6. Log out and log in again to be able to use the template.

Exporting to Excel

  1. Go to 'Files' | 'Candidates'.

  2. Optionally, make a selection of the candidates that should be included in the Excel file.

  3. Click on the arrow next to "Choose Rapport..." and choose 'Mailmerge'.

Note: if no candidates are selected, the data of all candidates is exported.

Remarks

  • Carerix has a limit on the number of records you can export at once. Split a large export into smaller parts — see our article Database Export - Split selection.

  • From Excel you can also export the data to other formats.
