Before you can start with RMA WhatsApp, you need a WhatsApp Business account from META.
In this article we offer you 2 different ways to get your WhatsApp Business account ready for use. For a complete overview, watch the video at the bottom of this article so you can easily follow the steps.

Log in or sign up here for a personal META account and make sure your personal account is added to your META Business Suite.
Go to the [Settings] of your Business Portfolio and click [WhatsApp accounts].
No accounts are shown in this overview if you haven't had a WhatsApp Business account in the past.
Adding a new WhatsApp Business account
Click [Add] in the top right corner and click [Create a new WhatsApp Business account].
Add your company name and choose the category "Professional Services".
Select the phone number you want to use.
There are two options for the phone number:
Create a virtual number: This number is not officially approved by META and has a limited number of messages, but it is an excellent way to start testing your workflows and setting up WhatsApp templates.
Add a new number: If you already have a number that is NOT linked to another WhatsApp provider, you can easily add this number.

Finishing up
Your account has now been created.
Click the button to add a payment method and click [Add].
Choose one of the two payment options and continue.
Go back to the overview of your WhatsApp Business accounts and click [WhatsApp configuration] in the corner. Here you can view your number and/or add another number if you started with a virtual number.

Log in to your META Business Suite.
Go to [Settings] and click [WhatsApp accounts].
Create a new WhatsApp Business account, even if you already use one.
Adding a phone number
Choose a virtual number if your current number is still in use with another provider and you only want to transfer it later.
Transferring can take some time; with a virtual number you can get started with RMA and your WhatsApp templates right away.

Transferring (migrating) your number
If you want to keep and transfer your existing number:
Ask your current provider to release your phone number.
Once the provider confirms the number is released, you can remove/unlink the number from your old WhatsApp Business account.
Then add the number to your newly created WhatsApp Business account
Please note: History from the old account is not carried over to the new account. Only conversations saved as an activity (note or task) in Carerix will remain.
