Within Carerix you are able to receive mail on 2 different ways:

  • Direct, by the Carerix-address: <username>@<application>.mail.carerix.net

  • By POP3 or IMAP mail, with your own address <user>@<client>.nl

See email settings for more information.

How long does it take before an email arrives?

This is dependent on a couple of factors.

Explanation

An email goes in a couple of steps from sender to recipient, at every step a waiting period can occur. This is described below:

Carerix mail

Someone sends an email to you. These are the steps that happen behind the scenes:

  1. Sender types the message and clicks on [send]. The message is now on the mailserver of the sender.

  2. The mailserver of the receiver offers the email to the mailserver of Carerix.
This doesn't happen immediately: In general the sender does this 1 to several times an hour. This is in practice the delaying factor.

  3. The mail server of Carerix puts the receiver message in Carerix. This happens immediate.

  4. The message is in your Carerix application.
It can take some time before you see this. You see the message when u refresh the page with received emails.
